304 PVD Coating Stainless Steel Sheet

304 PVD Stainless Steel Sheet is a high-end metal material made from 304 austenitic stainless steel as the base, coated with a micron-level metallic or non-metallic layer through Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) technology. It offers a wide range of long-lasting decorative colors such as gold, rose gold, and more, without fading over time.

The PVD process significantly enhances the surface hardness to over 2000HV, improving both wear resistance and corrosion resistance-for example, PVD-coated surfaces can withstand over 500 hours of salt spray testing. Moreover, the process is environmentally friendly, containing no cyanide or harmful chemicals.

Product Description

Can PVD stainless steel be used outdoors?
Yes. While PVD is mostly used indoors for decorative applications, many finishes are suitable for semi-outdoor use, provided the environment is not highly acidic or salty. For marine exposure, 316 PVD is recommended.

What's the difference between PVD and painted stainless steel?
PVD is a physical vacuum process that bonds at the molecular level, offering higher durability, color stability, and corrosion resistance. Paint or spray coatings are less durable and may peel over time.

Can I laser cut or bend 304 PVD sheets?
Absolutely. Our PVD-coated 304 sheets come with PVC protective film and are compatible with laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, and welding.

FAQ
1. Is 304 PVD-coated stainless steel sheet rustproof?
Yes, 304 stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, and the PVD coating adds an extra layer of protection. However, in harsh environments or if the coating is scratched, proper maintenance is still recommended.
2. Can PVD-coated stainless steel be used outdoors?
Yes, but it is most suitable for architectural and decorative applications in mild to moderate environments. For coastal or high-chloride environments, 316 PVD-coated stainless steel is recommended instead of 304.
3. How thick is the PVD coating layer?
The PVD coating is typically 0.2–0.5 microns thick—ultra-thin, yet highly durable and scratch-resistant under normal use.
4. How to clean and maintain a 304 PVD-coated sheet?
Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or acidic substances to prevent scratching or damaging the coating.
