SUS 630 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe

Product Description
SUS 630 seamless stainless steel tubing—also known as 17-4 PH—is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel. By incorporating 3% to 5% copper, it achieves specific mechanical properties through various aging heat treatments. In the H900 hardened condition, it boasts a tensile strength reaching up to 1310 MPa, a yield strength of no less than 1170 MPa, and a hardness of 40–45 HRC. Its mechanical strength exceeds that of conventional 316L stainless steel by more than threefold, while simultaneously maintaining excellent pitting corrosion resistance comparable to that of 304 stainless steel.

SUS 630 stainless steel tubing demonstrates exceptional creep resistance and minimal thermal deformation even in environments reaching temperatures of up to 315°C, making it an ideal choice for high-pressure aerospace systems, high-strength shaft components in oil extraction, and high-pressure valve assemblies in the chemical industry.

Our products undergo rigorous inspection, including 100% ultrasonic flaw detection and multi-point hardness uniformity testing, to ensure zero-defect reliability even under extreme alternating stress conditions—thereby providing unparalleled structural safety assurance for your high-end manufacturing applications.

FAQ
What are the differences between SUS 630, 17-4 PH, and UNS S17400?
SUS 630, 17-4 PH, and UNS S17400 are identical materials, representing the same grade of martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel. They differ only in name: 17-4 PH is the common name, SUS 630 is the JIS standard, and S17400 is the UNS designation. Commonly used in aerospace, oil, and nuclear applications, they provide high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance.

Can SUS 630 seamless pipe be welded?
Yes. SUS 630 has good weldability. Preheating is usually not required (unless the wall thickness is very large). To obtain strength consistent with the base material, post-weld solution treatment and aging are recommended.

Why is SUS 630 seamless steel pipe so much more expensive than 316L?
SUS 630 contains expensive alloying elements such as copper (Cu) and niobium (Nb). Its martensitic structure results in high hardness, causing significant damage to the dies during cold drawing and rolling, requiring more passes and necessitating precise and controlled solution treatment and long-term aging.
