ASME SA789 UNS S32205 U-bend boiler tubes

ASME SA789 UNS S32205 duplex steel U-bend boiler tubes are U-shaped tubes made of 2205 duplex stainless steel in accordance with ASME SA789 standards. They are suitable for corrosion-resistant, high-strength applications in boilers, heat exchangers, and other demanding industries.

ASME SA789 UNS S32205 U-bends are manufactured by bending straight tubes and cold-bending them on an automatic U-bend machine. To ensure controlled wall thinning and diameter ovality, a mandrel is inserted into the tube during the bend. Furthermore, the U-bends are stress-relieved under controlled conditions and cycled for extended service life.

Hot-worked seamless UNS S32205 tubes are suitable for applications where dimensional accuracy and surface quality are less critical. UNS S32205 duplex steel U-bends maintain structural integrity and corrosion resistance in operating temperatures from cryogenic to 300°C (572°F). Its duplex (ferrite-austenite) structure resists thermal fatigue, ensuring reliability in high-frequency U-bend applications such as heat exchangers and power plants.

ASME SA789 UNS S32205 U-Bend Boiler Tube Specifications

Sizes / Thickness OD: 0.25"- 6" ; W.T: 0.02" - 0.5" or as required by clients
Manufacture Shall be made by the seamless or welded process with no filler metal added.
Heat Treatment For seamless tubes, as an alternate to final heat treatment in a continuous furnace or batch-type furnace, immediately following hot forming while the temperature of the tubes is not less than the specified minimum solution treatment temperature, tubes may be individually quenched in water or rapidly cooled by other means.

Markings

All tubes shall be supplied as per applicable ASTM A789 /A789M Specification.

Packing and Marking

Packed in bundles or ply wooden box wrapped in plastic, and suitably protected for sea-worthily delivery or as requested.
