316 Stainless Steel Round Bars

Product Description

316 stainless steel round bar is a stainless steel bar with austenite as the matrix, containing about 2-3% molybdenum (Mo). It has excellent corrosion resistance (especially resistance to chloride corrosion) and high temperature performance. It complies with ASTM A276, A484 and other standards and is often used in the manufacture of precision parts in harsh environments.

316 stainless steel hot-rolled bar has good corrosion resistance, and is resistant to seawater, salt spray, bleach, organic acid (such as formic acid) and chloride ion solution. Its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is far superior to 304.
316 stainless steel cold-rolled bar has medium cutting performance, and carbide tools must be used and fully cooled to avoid work hardening; cold formability is good, and complex shapes require annealing. (GTAW), (GMAW), etc. can be used, and ER316L welding wire is recommended.

Is 316 stainless steel round bar magnetic?
The annealed state is austenitic and non-magnetic; but cold processing may produce a small amount of martensite phase, resulting in slight magnetism, which can be eliminated by annealing.
